Oceans eleven casino owner

broken image

It could be a clever directorial ploy that the character of Benedict becomes the villain rather than a victim. He uses his power to obtain what he wants when he wants it. The only person who loses from this situation is Benedict, a man who can honestly afford to lose the money. With their abilities and talents they could easily steal from anyone, but instead they choose to take an enormous risk and break into the high security vault of a casino. Benedict has enough wealth to afford being stolen from, and this is part of the reason Danny and his team chooses to steal from him. Outside of the financial motive behind the plot, Danny is using the scheme to win back his ex-wife who left him after he was arrested before the start of the movie itself.

In Ocean’s Eleven, Danny and his crew conceive a plan to rob the Bellagio, the Mirage, and the MGM Grand, and the plan is justified because of the portrayal of the casino owner, Terry Benedict, as a corrupt man himself. Written by Jacob Baggett and Edited by Sarah Carterĭanny Ocean from Ocean’s Eleven, Ocean’s Twelve, and Ocean’s Thirteen represents the antihero in these films because he acts as the protagonist of the story, but he is a criminal.
